Solinst Rain Logger Model 3002

Product Description

For high accuracy, the Rain Logger counts rain bucket tips in
micrometers (µm), then expresses readings in mm/period. The linear sampling rate can be set anywhere between 10 - 90 minutes. The 2-channel logger also determines the rainfall total for each 5 minutes and calculates the Peak Rainfall Rate for each sample period.

The Rain Logger uses a standard 9 V battery to wake the logger briefly every minute. It calculates the time segment totals and peaks, and flashes an LED, which indicates that the logger is working properly. This replaceable battery should last for
1-2 years and the remaining battery level is also viewable in the
Levelogger software. A real-time clock inside the Rain Logger is operated from a separate battery with a lifetime of over 15 yrs.

When the Rain Logger is connected to a computer using the PC Interface Cable and the Levelogger software is launched, the program recognizes the Rain Logger and displays the instrument type and number. It uses Channel 1 to indicate rain for the period and Channel 2 for the peak rain rate. If the logger has previously been programmed, the location identifier, sample rate and calibration
constant entered will also be displayed. If not, these can be
entered and the logger started (Start Now). When data is to be
downloaded just go to the data control window. The downloaded
data can then be exported easily to other programs.
