The lightweight ProScope shines wherever there's a free USB port. The ProScope snaps 640-by-480 true-color digital images or 320-by-200 AVI movies, at magnifications from 1X to 200X or more.
The versatile ProScope has many applications. A biologist might configure it as a Webcam to monitor experiments remotely or share its output with a colleague through NetMeeting. Rather than squinting through a microscope eyepiece, students can view an image together.
To use the ProScope, simply hold the handheld or frame mounted device to the item. Pressing the trigger button takes a digital picture, an AVI movie, or a time-lapse movie. For even illumination, a thumb switch lights a ring of six bright white LEDs surrounding the lens.
Law enforcement agencies nationally and internationally have purchased The ProScope because it can be attached to almost any PC or Mac laptop to capture magnified digital images at a crime scene. "This is a professional level product that even a child can use". The bus-powered ProScope can capture still, video or time lapse images with a single click.
The ProScope comes with USB Shot 1.0.1 software Still images can be saved in a variety of formats and it captures video in QuickTime. Optional accessories include a variety of lenses from a 1X camera lens to 100X and 200X power lenses. For those with an existing microscope or telescope using C-mount lenses so the basic hand-held scope can turn the analog instrument into a digital capture device.
The ProScope has also seen uses for physicians, coin and stamp collectors, printers and textile manufacturing.
