Small in size and huge in power ProControl for pilot plants aeration and gate control and remote st
ProControl provides one small box that allows powerful control of your systems. The ProControl iRIS has been designed and constructed using the latest in technology appropriate to the unit being used in harsh outdoor and industrial environments. The remote control unit features digital and analogue input and analogue outputs for control of equipment in any location. With standard SDI-12 input ProControl permits wireless (ProRadio) sensor networks and chains of sensors to be deployed while still giving outputs for positioning or control over equipment onsite. With memory for over 250,000 data points and an onboard battery providing power off or blackout backup, ProControl becomes a valuable audit tool.
Product Description
There are four physical communication interfaces:
• RS232
• GSM/GPRS or CDMA/CDMA-1X modem
• SDI-12 Serial Instrumentation
• SER420 4-20mA Output
Data access / download in several ways:
• Direct RS232 connection e.g. laptop or data radio
• GPRS or CDMA-1X IP based packet transfer
• CSD dial-up data link
• SMS text back (immediate values only)
COMMUNICATION AND INPUT DESCRIPTIONS
RS232 DB9M Port - DTE configured RS232 communication port for comms with laptops or serial data radios or other equipment. Pluggable screw terminals provided at all connection points I/O and power supply.
GSM/GPRS or CDMA/CDMA-1X Modem - A high performance modem either a dual-band GSM or alternatively a CDMA/CDMA-1X device. Software Optimized options have been included to make the connection scenarios very flexible and to minimize data traffic.
2 x Digital Inputs Non-isolated (have high speed counter function)
2 x Analogue Inputs Non-isolated (12-bit, range selectable up to 0-5V)
2 x Digital Outputs Non-isolated (open-drain sinking)
4 x 4-20mA Analouge Outputs (registry selectable)
SDI-12 Interface - Fully complies with the SDI-12 electrical standard. The firmware support level is to SDI-12 V1.2.
2 x Digital Inputs - Operate with either a clean-contact activation to 0V or else a dc input signal (min 3.6V, max 12V) referenced to 0V
4 x Analogue Inputs - Uni-polar, 12-bit resolution. The input range is 0-5V, with protection to 30V dc
2 x Digital Outputs – 1 x configured as switched 12V output, the other is open-drain sinking to 0V. Maximum of 300mA.
4 X Analogue Inputs - The outputs are used for control function (i.e. process valves and gates). They are digitally generated 4-20mA signals interpreted from assigned registry values. The input values are user selectable from available sensor inputs (including SDI-12).
1 x Excitation Output - Fixed 5V excitation output is provided to energize passive instruments such as potentiometer type wind vanes.
BASIC SPECIFICATION
SIZE: 162mm x 116mm x 65mm (4.60in x 6.37in x 2.64in) (WxHxD)
MASS: 1580g (3.48lb)
ENVIRONMENTAL Operating: -10C to +70C (14 F to +158 F).
IP Rating: IP65
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Enclosure - Hard Anodized Corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. A gasket achieves the IP65 rating and cable entry through compression glands.
LCD / Keypad User Interface - LCD with 4 lines of 12 characters, plus a number of graphical icons. This display, and the 4 button keypad provides a simple method of viewing general, sensor and comms status.
LED Indicators - A tri-color LED to indicate general status.
Processor - A high performance, multi-speed (max 100MHz) micro-controller varied to minimize power consumption.
Memory - 4MB of flash memory.
Power Supply - The default is an internal (and/or external) 12V SLA battery. Two onboard high efficiency switch-mode regulators charge the battery and supply all other onboard requirements. The battery voltage and charger input are monitored and can be logged or displayed. A solar panel can be directly connected. Over-voltage and reverse polarity protected with self-resetting fuse.
Temperature measurement - PCB temperature is also monitored. Optionally read or logged as a scaled -10.0C to +70.0C (14 F to +158 F) range.
Real Time Clock / Calendar - Backed up by on-board battery. A software adjustable to optimize accuracy.
Optional Equipment
GSM/CDMA Stubby Antenna
External higher gain antenna via a standard BNC fitting
