Clearmake oil/water/solids separators are of the enhanced gravity type generically known as CPI units and are used to treat trade wastewater prior to discharge. The wastewater would typically emanate from washdown industrial process stormwater and contain silt solids and free floating hydrocarbons. Clearmake separators contain a Vertical Tube Coalescer (VTC) which by design and orientation deliver superior discharge results over the outmoded corrugated plate separators.
The hydrocarbons are required to be free floating, non emulsified with a specific gravity of .9 or less (all motor fuels and most lubricating oils). Gross quantities of hydrocarbons are excluded from the influent stream by monitoring workshop practices to ensure that waste oil is placed to a waste reservoir and excluded as much as possible from the separator. Waste streams with emulsified hydrocarbons can be treated with augmented separators that are designed on a project specific basis.
A special purpose CL 3.0 model separator has been designed with AQIS input and approval and incorporates all necessary features required for an AQIS compliant washdown facility.
