Product Description
Although this product has now been superseded by our enhanced GA2000 landfill gas (LFG) infrared gas analyser, we are able to continue supplying this unit.
The GA94 landfill gas analyser uses an integral pump to draw gas through an in-line water trap and a replaceable filter into a sample chamber. An infra-red beam is projected, via sapphire windows through the gas sample. The beam is sensed by three detectors: one for methane (CH4), one for carbon dioxide (CO2) and one for compensation. A microprocessor calculates the amount of infra-red light absorbed at different wavelengths and determines the various gas concentration levels present.
Readings are shown on a liquid crystal display (LCD) as a percentage of gas concentration by volume. Methane concentrations may also be expressed in terms of a percentage of the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). Oxygen (O2) concentration is measured by the Galvanic Cell principle.
A data logging facility on the GA94 allows an unattended unit to automatically obtain readings. In addition, the unit has the ability to measure atmospheric pressure, to make automatic corrections to measured gas concentrations and to measure the relative vacuum in gas extraction pipelines.
As you would expect, it is also certified intrinsically safe for use in hazardous locations to safety classification ATEX EEx ibe II A T1.
