ECH2O Soil Moisture Probe 10cm ECH2O probe with 4-20mA output

The ECH2O probes are innovative low-cost, accurate sensors for in situ water content measurement. Its unique design makes it less sensitive to saline and textural effects, and its low price makes it possible to better measure a large area. The ECH2O probes measure the dielectric constant of the soil in order to find its volumetric water content. They do this by finding the rate of change of voltage applied to the sensor once it is buried in the soil. There are other probes that measure water content this way, but the ECH2O probe is the only one of its kind to have a comparatively low sensitivity to saline and temperature effects in the soil. Furthermore, it has a very low power requirement, which makes long-term monitoring more cost-effective. And its extremely high resolution makes it possible to accurately monitor water use daily or even hourly

Product Description

The EA-10 is a standard-type ECHO probe similar in size and specification to the EC-10. However the EA-10 is designed for use with industrial data acquisition and control systems. It has a standard 2-wire, 4-20mA analog interface.
